@ZillaMuzik256 & @Donnismusic Keep It G

It's not often one describes a hip hop track as poignant, yet that is exactly how the latest joint from Atlanta, GA rapper Donnis and Huntsville, AL rapper Zilla comes across. Soliciting the talent of Southern production juggernauts the Block Beattaz, Donnis conveys in the colorful, enlightened detail he's known for the battles that are often waged between those that strive for success and those that choose to watch with "Keep It G". Using a twinkling piano theme to sets the stage for more playful fare, Donnis manages to reflect on everything from lean sipping youth to European excursions while maintaining a sense of continuity that brings the diverse ideas together. To bring a second street perspective, Alabama's crown hood lyricist Zilla delivers his unique brand of authentic yet expressive wordplay to add a rugged feel to the bouncing track. Fresh off of a highly anticipatited project with Lil Boosie's very own Q Red, Zilla continues his hood laced poeticism on what may be one of his most raw, real, and relentless collaborations of late.
Notes: Donnis is working on a Project with the Block Beattaz for the fans that does not yet have a tittle and Zilla is at work on his debut album due out in 2013

Gunplay released from jail

Gunplay has been released from jail. According to NBC MIAMI
, the MMG foot soldier received a $150,000 bond and was placed on house arrest this afternoon. Gunplay, birth name Richard Morales, turned himself in to Miami-Dade Police October 18, 2012 for an outstanding robbery warrant. This warrant stemmed from an incident April 13th, when Gunplay allegedly robbed a man at a local tax business. Gunplay's lawyer provided the following statement in an email earlier today: "The state did not prove that Mr. Morales was a flight risk or a threat to the community. He should be home with his family shortly. This is the first step in clearing his name so he can continue his emerging music career. via xxlmag.com

After all the anticipation MMG head honcho Rick Ross finally unveils the official tracklist for his upcoming ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ album. 2011 was a massive year for the Maybach Music Group, and the crew is only doing bigger, and better things during 2012. Although fans have had to wait through several push backs of Rick Ross’ ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ album due to health concerns among other things, Ross is finally ready to drop this brand new project during the summer season. Ross’ ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ is one of the most highly anticipated projects of not only the summer, but the entire year. The album will feature appearances from the likes of Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, Andree 3000, Meek Mill, Omarion, Usher, Wale, Drake, and Stalley. The Ongoing Problem Of Piracy In The Online Music Industry

The Ongoing Problem Of Piracy In The Online Music Industry By Phineas Gray The online music industry has seen quite a few changes over the past few years. A number of lawsuits have been flying around suing people who were engaging in blatant piracy of music. This led to a number of sites being shut down over piracy charges. This has helped bring some amount of orderliness to the entire industry. Piracy has always been an issue, and with the advent of the Internet it has taken on an even stronger avatar. File sharing on the Internet has become a simple task, and that is why piracy thrives so much online. However, if you really want to do your part in reducing piracy, then you should start by downloading music that is legally available through the right channels. Many people are of the opinion that piracy is a problem that can never be done away with. However, if everybody does their part in stopping it, then it will surely die out, and everyone will receive their fair share of remuneration. Start by hunting for sites that offer affordable download options. This won't be too hard to find as there are a number of well known sites catering to a large number of music lovers. If you are hunting for a website that offers hindi music downloads, then you will not be disappointed. There are websites that have some lovely offers for people who want to download regularly. All you need to do is sign up and get down to downloading all the music you love. Coming back to the subject of piracy, experts in the music industry say that it can only be solved if the listeners unite against this major problem. Piracy is something that you shouldn't indulge in as you are indirectly robbing someone of their revenue. Think about this every time you download something that is not through the right channel. Listening to online music and downloading it is an exciting process. You can spend hours browsing through a number of artists from different genres of music. You can always pick out those songs that you would love to hear again, and download them whenever you want. If you've opted for a monthly download plan, then there is no limit on the number of songs you can pick out. Choose the right ones and do your part in putting an end to piracy in the music industry that has been going on for too long. If you're searching for legal online music, then you should certainly check out hungama.com. They have a good collection of artists just waiting to be listened to.

Bet Awards

BET Awards Associated Press 07/02/2012 10:38 AM By MESFIN FEKADU With all the star power at the BET Awards — Kanye West, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and Samuel L. Jackson, to name a few — the most stirring moment came not from a superstar, but from the mother of one. Whitney Houston’s mother Cissy provided the emotional highlight of Sunday’s ceremony as she sang “Bridge Over Troubled Water” in tribute to her late daughter, leaving audience members like Beyonce and Soulja Boy in tears. Mariah Carey opened the tribute, and her voice wavered as she told stories about Houston. She recalled the last time she saw Houston last year, and how the two laughed and gossiped together. “I miss my friend,” Carey said. “I miss hearing her voice and laughter.” R&B singer Monica was vocally top-notch as she sang “I Love The Lord,” a gospel song once sang by Houston; Brandy sang two upbeat Houston hits, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “I’m Your Baby Tonight.” Chaka Khan blazed the stage with “I’m Every Woman,” which Houston remade. Gary Houston, Whitney’s brother, also performed; and Houston’s “Waiting to Exhale” cast mates — Angela Bassett, Lela Rochon and Loretta Devine — also honored the singer. But it was Cissy Houston’s soaring performance that brought the audience to their feet, and had many dabbing their eyes. The tribute came five months after Houston’s death: She died the night before the Grammy Awards of an accidental drowning complicated by heart disease and cocaine use. As compelling as that moment was, the show was also defined by its low points: Entire segments of performances, from Nicki Minaj to Rick Ross, were muted out due to foul language and obscenities, though several vulgarities were heard on air. It started during the opening number by West’s G.O.O.D. music group, which included Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz. There were long moments of censored silence when the rappers performed “Mercy,” though not all the offending words were bleeped out. Moments later, Jackson, the show’s host, was joined by Spike Lee as they did a comedic version of Jay-Z and West’s hit song “... In Paris,” to laughs. “Two distinguished Morehouse men,” Lee joked after the performance, referencing the alma mater of the two. The censor police also worked overtime when Rick Ross performed with his Maybach Music Group and during Minaj’s performance and acceptance speech for best female hip-hop artist. Minaj’s win was her third consecutive time taking the prize. “I really, really appreciate BET for keeping this category alive, and I appreciate all the female rappers doing their thing, past, present and future,” she said, before uttering an obscenity. Best gospel winner Yolanda Adams, who also performed, gently took some of her peers to task, urging them to act mature and use their fame wisely. “We need all of y’all,” she said onstage. “I’m saying the world needs everyone in this room. Please make sure that you use your gift responsibly, ‘cause we’re watching. Our babies are watching, and they want to be like us.” West, the most nominated act of the night with seven, and Jay-Z won the ceremony’s top prize, earning video of the year for “Otis.” They also won best group. Beyonce was the second most nominated act with six. She won video director of the year (along with Alan Ferguson) and best female R&B artist and thanked the genre and her female influences. “I fell in love with music by listening to R&B. It’s the core of who I am,” she said, giving special thanks to Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige and “Whitney Houston, my angel.” When she lost video of the year to Jay-Z and West, she playfully hit her husband and laughed. The joking continued: Moments later, as West was giving his acceptance speech, Jay-Z interrupted him and said: “Excuse me Kanye, I’m gonna let you continue, but ...,” and the audience erupted with laughter, recalling West’s infamous interruption of Taylor Swift’s MTV Video Music Awards speech a few years back. Chris Brown was also a double winner, picking up his second consecutive win for best male R&B artist, and the “Fandemonium” award for a third time. Brown also performed in his first televised appearance since the New York City nightclub brawl between his entourage and Drake’s. Brown, his girlfriend, his bodyguard and NBA star Tony Parker were among those injured in the June 14 encounter, where bottles were thrown. Drake didn’t show, despite being nominated. The tone of night fluctuated frequently, as the show shifted from hotly anticipated performances to solemn moments to irreverence. Usher performed his groove “Climax,” and Minaj sported a blonde wig with pink tips as she performed the songs “Champion” and “Beez In the Trap,” which featured 2 Chainz. D’Angelo returned to the television spotlight with his first performance in years as he attempts a comeback. The night also featured some tributes to deceased greats: Chante Moore performed a medley of Donna Summer’s hits and Valerie Simpson sang a song in honor of her husband and writing partner Nick Ashford. Don Cornelius, Dick Clark and Hal Jackson were remembered. Even West offered tributes: after his performance, he name-dropped Rodney King and Whitney Houston in a verse that got cheers from the crowd, including his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian. Presenters included Taraji P. Henson, Tyler Perry, Kerry Washington and Jamie Foxx, who wore a T-shirt that had a picture of Trayvon Martin, the Florida teen killed by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman. Frankie Beverly

Love and Hiphop Atlanta petition letter

Change.org petition letter
“After we made a ruckus about Basketball Wives, sponsors began to pull ads. Well, it's that time again, folks!

While we should respect the perceptions and experiences of the men and women featured on "reality" television shows, networks are airing stories that could be very helpful for people to hear, but in EXTREMELY dangerous ways.

We all know premium digital crack rock is 'slanged' in more digital hoods than VH1. We also know the problem is not just TV--it's is a big, mean, social monster that we've gotta shoot down one non-violent bullet at a time. Nevertheless, somebody's gotta be the face of this lovely movement. And since VH1 has chosen to give us yet another beautifully-blinged jewel of commercial exploitation (Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta), they might as well be the face of change. By the way, shout out to all African Americans who received Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as their Juneteenth gift! You won and lost at the same time!”

Let Wiz Smoke DAM!!!

Wiz Khalifa escaped with just a caution when police found him in possession of marijuana.
i
The 'Black and Yellow' rapper was in his hotel room in Nashville over the weekend when officers turned up at his door after a fellow guest had complained about a strong smell of cannabis.
According to gossip website TMZ.com, Wiz - real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz - threw a 'marijuana cigarette' out of the window before letting the police in.
However, officers recovered the item from outside, and said in their report: 'Inside the rolling paper was a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana.'
Wiz - who is engaged to model Amber Rose - later admitted to owning the joint and confessed to having another 3.7g of marijuana in his pocket.
The 'Work Hard, Play Hard' hitmaker - who is very open about his cannabis use - was then given a citation.
Wiz has been arrested before for drug use but he says he's not ashamed of the fact he uses marijuana and has previously said he wants it to be legalised.
He has said: 'I thought weed was bad for a minute. When I was younger, I thought it was bad, but I got to a point where it worked for me. It don't work for everybody else. People gotta stay free, people need jobs, people got parents that probably wouldn't be with it, so don't ruin your life trying to be like me. That's my advice.'
'Definitely, legalise it. Please, everybody needs it. The world would be a better place.'

Kevin Hart

Well Kevin Hart has done it again. He is in a good space in his career, he has a new movie out as well as a new comedy tour called Let Me Explain. He has two guest on this tour Na'im Lynn and Joe Wells and they keep you laughing all through the show. I won't tell you any of the jokes because I don't want to spoil it for you all. I enjoyed the show from top to bottom and there are a few surprises. I haven't seen Think Like a Man yet but I have heard great things about it. I suggest if you can to go see Kevin Hart live because he is hilarious. Think Like a Man trailer:

Tupac Hologram maybe first in a new trend

The World is in state of shock after seeing the Tupac Hologram perform at Coachella. After watching the performance myself the first thing that came to mind, is this the beginning of a new trend? So many artist came to mind that I never seen in concert before that i could see with this new hologram technology. Imagine seeing Biggie Smalls, Tupac and Aaliyah at one show just to name a few. The only drawback would be the greedy corporate world making our beloved lost icons into a themed ride at Universal Studios. Of course they're going to do Micheal Jackson and Elvis. I just hope its more for the fans and not the almighty dollar bill..

Shout out AV Concepts and Dr Dre for coming together to bring Pac back to life for a moment.

Bobbi Kristina engaged?

There has been so much speculation and many rumors around the Houston family but now since our beloved Whitney has left this earth, her daughter is the main topic of a lot of websites. They are saying that she is allegedly engaged to her "adopted" brother, but the thing about that is he was never adopted by Whitney Houston. The pair only grew up together and they have seem to get closer after the passing of Bobbi K's mother. It is also said that close friends of the pair are very shocked but not as shocked as Bobbi's grandmother Cissy Houston. As the story unravels I will keep you all up to speed.

All-Star Weekend & Oscars

This is always an eventful time of the year because of the All Star weekend, which was held in Orlando, FL. There were many celebs out and about in the streets of Orlando to celebrate as well as tourists that want to be apart of this event. The major events that were televised were the dunk contest that happened on Saturday and the All-Star game on Sunday. The dunk contest was okay, there were a couple of delays with the dunks but Jeremy Evans from the Utah Jazz came out on top and won that. The All-Star game on Sunday seemed like a dunk contest the first quarter and the West had a great lead by the end of the first half (88-69) and then the second half the East was making a comeback but they didn't come out on top. The West won (152-149) with Kobe Bryant passing the score of Michael Jordan for all star games greatest scorer. The MVP ended up being Kevin Durant who contributed 36 points to the team. The Oscars were on at the same time as the All-Star game so I didn't catch too much of that but I saw a couple of the dresses that were worn. One of the memorable dresses was worn by J. Lo who is no stranger to risque' but tasteful. She almost had a wardrobe malfunction but it was caught in time. I also saw that Octavia Spencer won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in the movie The Help. Well that is my spill for today

My Favorite Moment on Soul Train

I like the rest of the world was shocked to hear the news of Don Cornelius passing. He was most definitely a pioneer for black music and because of him BET and other music channels exist. More so he helped those of his own color, he helped others see the talents of black people in singing, dancing and later on rapping. He gave a stage for all of these talents to be show cased. There were many famous performers that touched the stage of Soul Train. This show came to an end in 2006 but it has and still does impact many. My favorite moment was when The Jackson 5 performed “Dancing Machine” as seen in the video below. May Mr. Cornelius R.I.P.

A$AP Rocky

He is an artist that hit the scene with a mixtape called LiveLoveA$AP which dropped in October of last year. One of his singles came out earlier than anticipated but it was taken very well and even got spins on Hot 97 a very popular radio station in New York. He was born and raised in Harlem so this was a very good look for him. His real name Rakim was inspired by the legendary rapper Rakim. He went through a lot in his lifetime so that is what made him want to go hard in the rap game. He has hits such as “Peso” and “Purple Swag”. Videos for them below:
