There are many underground as well as signed artists that were talked about and had plenty of recognition such as Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and Meek Mill. There are also artists that should’ve received some more attention than they actually got. There are many artists as well as groups that are in the rap and R&B genre such as Iggy Azalea and Hamilton Park that were upcoming fresh new faces to the world. Some people may have been hip to them in their local areas but they haven’t been recognized all over like others. In my opinion Childish Gambino, Iggy Azalea and Translee will take over 2012 with their witty lyrics and beats that get heads bopping. They all have a way with words but express them in their own unique ways. Childish Gambino is a rapper that is also an actor born in California but raised in Georgia has proven that he can rap in songs such as “Freaks and Geeks” and “Bonfire”. He also has done many shows and came out with albums and mixtapes. Iggy Azalea is an artist that is in her own lane especially with her being a female rapper from Australia. She started rapping at the age of 14 when she moved to the US. She has caught a lot of attention with the song “Pu$$y” and a mixtape called “Ignorant Art”. Translee is a spirited rapper that speaks his mind through his lyrics and those words are relatable to many people. He shows his talents in his mixtapes “Know Translee” and “Who’s Translee”, they are equally great and tell great stories of his life experiences. These are great artists that I believe will be big in the year 2012 and make an impact in the music world.
