Top 5 disappointments of 2011

5.BETAwards 2011

There is so much to say about the BET Awards ’11 but not enough room, Kevin Hart did a
good job of hosting, but that was one of the only real highlights of the show. There were mediocre performances, presenters that didn’t deliver the correct winners (i.e. Viewer’s Choice Award) and many other things that didn’t really please the audience. Many were talking about the show on twitter, more negative than positive things were stated. Overall the show was a fail.

4. Basketball wives LA

Although there were many viewers, this spin off will never touch the original. The women that were on the show didn’t have enough going for themselves that would really keep someone’s attention. The show was mostly watched for the drama (as any reality show is) but even the drama was kind of boring. The reunion as well was a snoozer. Two thumbs down, I hope there isn’t a second season.

3. The Game (the show)

I really hate to say this but The Game wasn’t as good as I thought it would be, there was so much going on at once that, I had to watch re runs to keep up.I understand there was a 2 year break and we had to be caught up to speed, so that is why I feel there should’ve been a longer first two episodes and then slowed everything down from then on. Hopefully that is what will happenwhen they return this spring Jan 12 on BET.

2. Dr. Conrad Murray verdict

The only positive thing that came from this verdict is he didn’t get away with not being a doctor of honor. Even if a patient does pay you to give more drugs than are supposed to be administered you are still not supposed to do it. This is the prime example of that because something can take a left turn and death will occur. The King of Pop became a casualty of this irresponsible action and now Dr. Murray only faces 4 years, which in my opinion is not enough time for murder.

1. Troy Davis execution

This was the most disappointing case of the year; this man went through a trial which was later found out that the witnesses were not telling the truth. They changed their stories saying the police made them say that so they would stay free. So there wasn’t enough evidence that showed
him to be guilty, I feel that at that point they should’ve had another trial and then went from there. Hours before his prosecution there was a hold by the Supreme Court to see if there could be further investigation but that didn’t help at all so a potentially innocent man was given the lethal injection and died at 11:08 pm EST on September 21, 2011
